Is Your Current Resume Quickly Getting the Attention of Employers for Job Interviews?

Or, Does It Just Keep Getting Lost In a Stack of Other Resumes on the Employer's Desk?

In Today’s Complicated Up-and-Down Economy and Highly Competitive Marketplace, the Way Your Resume Looks and Is Written Could Mean the Difference Between Waiting For an Interview or

Actually Being Called In for that Interview You Know Will Land You a Job!

Dear Employment Seeker:

Welcome to CareerPlex's American Writing Professionals Division — a highly personalized, live career and resume writing service that's been in business since 1988. For over 24 years our team of qualified experts has been writing resumes for thousands of individuals across the United States, like yourself, who want to get noticed quickly for the right job interview for which they're applying.

In 1988, after seeing a tremendous need to help people quickly get their resumes noticed by employers in the job world, we gathered and transformed a wide range of professional resume writing knowledge into a very specially focused, full-time client service called American Writing Professionals.

American Writing Professionals is now the personalized, career and live resumes writing division of CareerPlex USA, which meets every single need of a job seeker as well as any employer, business or corporation needing to hire any type of staff.

“I had gone to several other resume writers before deciding on AWP.  I found the expert/personal service the other companies were offering was to regurgitate my words onto a typewritten, Xeroxed piece of copy machine paper.  I felt my AWP resume was comprehensive and professional.  This exceeded my HIGHEST expectations.”

Four Reasons Why Most Resumes Fail To Stand Out From the Crowd To Secure Job Interviews:

In our 24 years of resume writing experience, we’ve seen that there are four reasons why so many resumes get tossed or overlooked for interviews by employers, managers, human resources generalists and personnel recruiting executives:

1) Most Resumes Are Written Using "How-To" Books or Software

Templates so They All Look Like Everyone Else's Resume.  Hence, They Usually FAIL the 15-Second Test.

Your resume has about 15 seconds to capture an employer’s interest during the first part of the screening.

Unfortunately, if you’re resume looks just like a 100 other resumes on the desk of a busy employer, manager or human resource person who doesn’t have the time to go through all of them, chances are yours won’t get noticed, and you won’t get a call.

It is sad that so many resume services do nothing but write resumes in this ineffective way.

2) Many Resumes Are 1-Page "Diaries" of Your Work Experience.

This Can Work Against You In the Eyes of Employers.

Think about this: In large corporations and a large majority of small businesses, there are human resource departments, as well as the departments in which employees work.  In these various working departments, there are department heads and managers. So, when these department heads and managers need an employee, they are always asked to write up a 1-page requisition that contains a bullet point list of the requirements the employee for which they are searching must have ... and it is this 1-page of information that gets sent to the human resources people in their company so only qualified candidates with the right talents and requirements to do the proper job may be located and called in for an interview.

If an individual doesn’t have the pre-requisites to begin, why bother interviewing him or her at all?  Department heads, managers and human resources personnel all work together to make sure that all the pre-requisites can be found before any individual is called in for an interview.

So the requisition drafted by the department head or manager now gets sent to the HR department to be filled. The HR department then looks for an employee that has all the pre-requisites and fits all the attributes required by the department. The HR department does not read resumes, they "QUICK-SCAN" them with their eyes or electronic scanners to make sure the greatest number of attributes required are there ... so obviously, the people doing this preliminary "QUICK-SCAN" work are going to prefer ONE page resumes in the hope that the required pre-requisites will be ultra-EASY to find.

And it is for this reason primarily, that the public gets the mistaken idea everybody needs to have a ONE page resume.

HOWEVER ...

The last thing a department head or manager really wantswhen they are about to spend $35,000 to $100,000 on an employeeis a resume that is so short and filled only with choppy "bullet-points" that it can be virtually meaningless.  Remember: The department head or manager is always looking to get to know the applicant in as much depth as they can before they spend $35,000 to $100,000 of their company's money.  Remember: These department heads and managers are looking to get to know you; they are looking to confirm that they will get the right value from the annual salary they are about to spend!

The department head or manger wants to know if you’re going to fit-in to his or her department.  The department head or manager wants to know if you’re background experience – such as a job you did 8 years ago – will provide talent and experience that can help him or her be more efficient or productive or aligned with new technology, etc.

So you tell us:  If everyone is suppose to have a ONE page resume like they say, does that mean that even the President of the United States should have have a ONE page resume?

And, what about a job that requires a lot of LAN / WAN Network or multi-server IT computer experience, or a lot of knowledge about specialized environmental controls or complex, government-regulated quality standards?  All this information is information that qualifies you for the job.

The amount of technology in the world is not what it was in 1965.  The variety of customer service techniques and capabilities has grown enormously since 1972.  The extended number of models that car manufacturers have come to produce since 1980 would surprise you.

So, you get the idea!  In every area, things have expanded in an important way ... would you want to leave off your resume highly relevant details simply because you can't get everything to fit on ONE page?

So the "QUICK-SCAN" people have to do a little more work ... but when the department head or manager reads a CareerPlex American Writing Professional's resume, you ... get noticed, stand out and immediately move to the top of the list for hiring consideration.

3) Unfortunately, a Lot of Resumes Are Written Like "Diaries"; they

include everything.  This Is Not What HR People, Department Heads, Managers and Interviewers Are Looking For!

Does your resume have text about every job you've ever had?  Are you a sales representative now, but your resume has on it your job flipping hamburgers at McDonalds when you were in high school?  If it does, then it's written using a “diary format” ... which will only work against you.

Employers with a certain position to fill read back over the past 10 or 15 years and see that you worked as a car mechanic here and a school teacher there and a bookkeeper for only the past four years, which is the position they are looking to fill.

As a result, resumes like these don't stand a chance against a resume that has been written with focus.  Your resume must show a credible vertical alignment with the job that is being recruited.  Otherwise, it just isn't going to get noticed; it simply will stay on the bottom of the pile!

Employers need to know how your talents, skills and experience can successfully fulfill the specific job position they are looking to fill—they are just not interested in reading a “diary” of all your past unrelated jobs.

4) Most Resumes FAIL to Effectively Communicate How the Person’s

Talents, Skills and Abilities Are in Line With the Target Position For Which They Are Being Interviewed.

Unfortunately, many people want to save money on resume services by cutting corners and not investing in a live, professional service group like CareerPlex's American Writing Professional's division to draft a highly distinctive document—one that the individual truly needs to stand out and get noticed.

Many job hunters use one of the zillions of "copied-from-a-How-To-book" type of resume services that are all too common on the Internet.  Or, they take a "do-it-yourself" approach that does not wind up with a resume that truly markets their talents and abilities properly to a prospective employer.

Other job hunters send out resumes that don’t effectively communicate their ability to excel in their target position.  While still other employment seekers use resumes that have been poorly drafted ... written in a way that doesn’t specifically connect to the specific job order the employer is looking to fill.

CareerPlex's American Writing Professionals Division has been in this business for over 24 years, and we know how to write resumes.

four specialized techniques that GREATLY increase the chances of getting your resume to stand out in the eyes of any employer so it COMPELS them to want to interview you — even if your resume is at the bottom of the stack!

Here’s what they are:

1) Your Resume Is Written To Employ "Reading Physics"; This

Instantly Makes Your Information Much Quicker and Easier to Capture by Interviewers …

CareerPlex's American Writing Professionals Division has studied eye movement and the reflexes people use to read — especially employers and interviewers. We fully understand the process people's eyes use to quickly go-over a resume ... and knowing about this specific reading behavior, we have designed our graphics so that what we want people to see and know is put strategically, just in the right place ... and in just the right size so your information can't miss lining up and making just the right impression!

Your resume will have our special layout that employs this "reading physics" approach to immediately capture the attention of any employer when they go through through any folder full of resumes.

Your resume will have a special arrangement that allows any employer or interviewer to quickly see your name, job title, education and other vital information.

Your resume will have sections and headings arranged in a specialized fashion that give any employer a quick summary of your talents, skills and other pertinent information that they’re looking so that it clearly differentiates you from the rest!

Don't simply take our word for it, see for yourself.  Click the buttons below to take a look at two different resumes.  Which person are you sure you will want to call in for an interview because you can easily learn lots about them in just a glance at their resume?

2) Your Resume Will Be Written as a Marketing Tool That Has Been Designed to

Quickly Showcase Your Talents, Skills and Abilities in a Way That Quickly Sells the Employer On Your Qualifications for the Position Which They are Looking to Hire …

CareerPlex's American Writing Professionals Division knows exactly how to take your talents, accomplishments and work history and focus them in your resume so they fit the job the employer is looking to fill. We know how to make someone's resume INSTANTLY standout from the crowd and get noticed by an employer who is looking for gold in any given pile of candidates' resumes.

We know how to effectively communicate your skills, talents and accomplishments so that your resume overwhelmingly sells YOU to the employer ... in fact, that employer wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't call you in for an interview because your resume will be perfectly aligned with the recruiting order they wrote and still have on their desk.

We do this not by writing a one-page "How-To" book resume, but by writing a distinctive, professionally composed chronologic or functional resume that unquestionably communicates to the employer that

your skills, talents, abilities and past accomplishments EXACTLY align with the target position they are looking to fill.
